GOODBYE 2016, HELLO 2017!

GOODBYE 2016, HELLO 2017!

2016 is over and 2017 is here! What a crazy-awesome year it’s been!

I’ve done so much in 2016 that it feels like it’s been several years long. People say time flies when you’re having fun, but I’d argue the opposite. Almost every day this year has been exciting and different, and that’s made it seem waaaay longer!

The goals I set out at the start of the year changed as 2016 progressed, and my focus changed a lot of times. In this post I’ll cover what I did in 2016, how I went financially for December, and what my goals & plans are for 2017!

If you’d like to watch a video re-cap of what I got up to in 2016, and my goals for 2017, watch the video version of this post below!

2016 Recap

I spent over 8-months living overseas, released my Kindle Publishing training course www.freedomselfpublishing.com, gave dropshipping a go, started a new Kindle account, grew my business, and made so many new friends! I didn’t achieve all of my goals, but I’m pretty happy with what I achieved! I aimed to hit 1000 YouTube subscribers by the end of the year, but fell short with 986. My fitness stayed pretty much the same, and my training was sporadic. I started the year not feeling incredibly healthy and was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder called Graves Disease which affects the thyroid. It’s supposedly chronic, but with diet and some natural medications I managed to completely remove any sign of the disease! My thyroid function is still not completely back to normal, but it’s well on its way!

I also managed to learn a whole lot of a new language this year! Russian is tough, but this year I went from speaking no Russian at all, to knowing over 1000 words and being able to hold a variety of conversations.

December

December looks to have been my best month yet financially, thanks in part to a spike of Christmas sales! I spent a lot of time pumping out new books during my last stay in Chiang Mai, and it made a big difference.

Here’s how my income sources broke down for the month, in Australian dollars:

Original Kindle Account: $1930
2nd Kindle Account: $9253
3rd Kindle Account: $1185
Freedom Self Publishing Sales: $1223

Total Revenue: $13,591

Total Expenses: $1866

Net Profit for December: $11,725

It was a quality month, though Christmas sales make it tough to estimate how I’ll do in January and beyond. It was a great end to a great year, but now it’s time to look forward.
