Travel Plans 2016

One of my goals for 2016 is to travel for at least 5 months of the year. I have a rough outline of what my travels will look like for the first half of the year, so I thought I’d outlay those plans here.

Tomorrow, I’ll be heading to Bali with my buddy Alec. This will be a 10-day trip for a bit of relaxation. I’ve been working over the Christmas period, hustling really hard to get my Freedom Self Publishing Kindle course ready! I’m getting close to having it ready for launch and expect it to be available in around a month’s time.
Since I worked over the Christmas period, this Bali trip will involve very little work!
I’m going to force myself to stay off the laptop as much as possible, and really relax, recharge, and prepare myself for a huge 2016!

Once back from Bali, I plan on staying in Melbourne for around 4-6 weeks. During this time, I’ll be diving back into the work in a big way! I want to launch Freedom Self Publishing during this period, and also start working on setting up my first dropshipping store which I’m really excited about!
The reason I plan on being in Melbourne for this period is because I have a couple of friend’s birthdays, a weekend trip away planned, and it will be Summer here still, my favourite time of year!

Mid-to-late Feb, I should be heading off on my biggest trip of the year.
I’ll be heading back to Thailand, but not just for a vacation, this will be for work too! I’ll be living the Digital Nomad lifestyle.
I was planning on going back to Chiang Mai, but it’s the burning season from February to early April, where the farmers burn their rice fields. Most people leave Chiang Mai for those couple of months and go somewhere with better air quality!
For that reason, I’m planning on starting my Thailand trip in Koh Phangan!

Koh Phangan is the tropical Thai island where the full moon party is held, but for 3 weeks of every month it’s very quiet. It looks like an absolutely stunning island and I can’t wait to get there. I plan on spending 1 month here working at the coworking space, building up my dropshipping store and growing my Kindle training course.
I will probably end up taking a few days off to check out the Full moon party, it’s definitely a bucket list item!
So that’s month number 1 – living on a tropical island. Not bad!

Next I’m planning a month in Vietnam. I’m not sure where exactly in Vietnam but I’m currently thinking either Ho Chi Minh city, or Da Nang. I’ve never been to Vietnam so this will require a bit more research, but I would like to spend a month there as I’ve heard great things! After this month in Vietnam, the burning season will be over and I’ll be heading back to Chiang Mai, Thailand.

I had a great experience when I stayed in Chiang Mai for 5 weeks last year. The one thing I regretted about the trip was not staying longer! Most people tend to go there for a minimum of 3 months, with many people using it as their home base.
It’s beautiful, extremely cheap, and the community is awesome. I learned a lot there and met a lot of people doing some really cool work online. If I get stuck with any of my online ventures, there are tons of pros there that I can ask for help which is amazing. It’s the best work environment I’ve experienced, and despite the lack of a beach, it’s one of my favourite places so far!
I’ll probably spend 3 months in Chiang Mai, with a week or 2 in Bangkok also as I’ve only ever spent time at the airport and haven’t actually explored the city!

But, who knows. These plans aren’t set in stone, and it’s pretty likely that they will change down the road.
That’s the great thing about working online. I don’t need to have an exact schedule. If I get sick of a place, or want to see a new one, I can just pack up and leave!

I am planning on coming back home after this but if I want to keep on travelling more, then nothing is stopping me either.

That’s it for the first 6 months of the year. That series of trips will complete my 5 months of travel, and hopefully I’ll accomplish a heap of other goals while I’m overseas.
It’s a strange thing – I seem to be more productive when travelling. I get to meet more like-minded people, earn more money, grow my business, and see amazing places all at the same time.
If you’re not already making money online, there is no better time than now. I cannot recommend it enough!

Anyway, that’s it for my travel plans this year. For the second half of the year I have no ideas yet but I’m guessing I’ll end up overseas again at some point.

For now, it’s off to Bali. Time to relax!
